# Ingredients:

→ For the Hamburger Steaks

01 - 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
02 - 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
03 - 1 large egg
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
06 - Salt, to taste
07 - Black pepper, to taste

→ For the Gravy

08 - 1 can (10 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
09 - 1/2 cup whole milk
10 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
11 - 1 small onion, thinly sliced
12 - 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

→ For Garnish

13 - Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
02 - Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix until just incorporated.
03 - Form the mixture into 4 to 6 oval-shaped patties with uniform thickness.
04 - Sear patties in a large skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
05 - In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, milk, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
06 - Pour gravy evenly over patties. Top with sliced onions and mushrooms if using.
07 - Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes.
08 - Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and hamburger steaks are cooked through.
09 - Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

# Notes:

01 - Do not overmix the beef mixture to prevent tough steaks.
02 - Searing the patties before baking helps lock in juices.
03 - For a richer gravy, substitute whole milk with heavy cream.
