Bacon Onion Tomato Pie (Print Version)

Caramelized onions, bacon, and tomatoes layered in a flaky crust with cheesy, creamy topping.

# Ingredients:

→ Crust

01 - 1 deep-dish pie crust, pre-baked

→ Filling

02 - 6 to 8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled
03 - 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
04 - 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced

→ Topping

05 - 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
06 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
07 - 1/2 cup sour cream
08 - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
09 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
11 - 1/4 teaspoon salt

→ Garnish (optional)

12 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sliced onions in a spoonful of bacon drippings until soft and golden, about 10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
03 - In the pre-baked pie crust, arrange half the caramelized onions, then half the tomato slices, and half the crumbled bacon. Repeat with the remaining onions, tomatoes, and bacon.
04 - In a small bowl, combine shredded mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt until fully incorporated.
05 - Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the layered filling. Position the dish on a baking sheet and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and bubbling.
06 - Allow the pie to rest for several minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped fresh chives or parsley if desired.

# Notes:

01 - For best results, allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing to maintain neat portions.
